Project: rs1600 BDA

Hi Mark
Here she is before we got to it

Front near side wing cut ready for new arch

See what I mean the jack is not holding the car this is the ride hight

After the arch is fully welded it we use fibre glass first.

The near side rear arch cut out

Inside the rear arch it's like a new car

I have primed the new liner

And painted the parts that are hidden

Front drivers side fitted

Thats all for now I have got the cibbies just need to paint them talk soon mate take care Mick.

Hi Mark here is the car in polyester spray filler and guide coat

This is the patch of rust on the rear end.

All chopped out and zingad up

Repaired

Here we are in primer the lads have started rubbing down the primer the shape looks good

All the repaires are now done here is the rear wheel arch after painting.sorry not many today it's been one of them days havent seemed to get anything done but been busy all day.
Talk soon mate Mick.

Hi Mark
Here she is all ready for some top coat.
The dark patches is the spot primer we use on all breakthroughs

This is a two gun job so we can make sure there are no dry edges

Even the underside is baged up.

Making sure we get a good finish in here.

The colour is a good one for coverage.

Four coats of the same will give us enough to flat and polish.

Here Chris has flatted the car and is now doing a first polish

We have baked the car for 2 hours so the paint will be good and hard.

This colour looks so much better flatted and polished.

Hi Mark
we have located the lights we will have to move the number plate if we have it in the normal place the lower spotlights cover the first and last letter

The chrome will be back next week.
This one is going to look as good as your other one.

Hi Mark we can't fit these there Blue.

Chrome work going on

Windscreen in
The chrome trim that was in the windscreen is no good it has shrunk and it looks a bit old I will order a new one on Monday and a rear one.

The door handles look great
(well all the chrome looks great)

Rear coilovers on they will need adjusting once we have it on the floor

Bill gwynne has made a good job of the diff.

The racing starter motor I got from mick and phill was for a BDA with a ZF gearbox so that had to go back posted tonight.
See you soon mate have a good holliday enjoy the break I will get some pics up next week for when you come back.

Here you go carlos fandango

We have ground the welds of to try and get the tyre to go on

Talk soon mate take care Mick.

P.S. the starter motor should be here tomorrow

Hi Mate
here she is in all her splender

Cool exhaust
I have kept the exhaust in 2.25" but the tail pipe is 2.5" so at the trafic lights people will think this is a 20bdg and they won't evan try.

The two switches by the lights switch are the upper and lower spot lights.
when the switches are down the spot lights will only work on main beam so you dont have to go fiddling with the switches at night this makes them leagle.

The grotty heated screen switch is for the front heated screen it's the only switch I have but it is an easy job to change and it looks standard.

Thats all for now mate see you soon. I am at bruntingtourpe on monday for clasic ford they are doing a cosworth day 0 to 60 and stuf I am trying to get my launch and traction controll sorted so I can run rings around these cosworth turbo tossers.
I will let you know how I get on then it's time for you to come and play on a track with me jon (Edwards) and Ollie
looking forward to that take care mate talk soon Mick.
